Gabb Phone 4 Pro Camera App
I am a Gabb parent and I have a Gabb phone (Gabb Phone 3 and now the 4 Pro for myself) and (Gabb Phone Plus) for my son.
I recently purchased the Gabb Phone 4 Pro. It's one of the best phones they have offered and it's right on par with the standard Samsung A series 5G phones that Verizon offers. My Gabb Phone 3 kept freezing up and it's storage was always nearly full (despite deleting all but the fixed apps on the phone) so the upgrade was worth it. This phone runs much more smoothly and they seem to have the bugs fixed in the Gabb Messenger App.
However there are problems that occur each time I early adopt a phone.
Each time I upgrade to a new phone I gain some nice new features and more storage and speed but then I lose a feature that I really enjoyed on my previous phone.
The Gabb Phone Plus and 3 had a really nice camera app. At first the share option was enabled where I could immediately share the photo I took with family. I got on the chat one time with a rep to ask a question about sharing and the next thing I know my phone got an update which disabled sharing.
So now I have to take the photo then go find it and then attach it to a text and send it. I know this is done for the safety of the user since in the Samsung Camera app there were greyed out hyperlinks to share to Facebook Instagram and so forth.
Is there a way to enable a controlled sharing with only your contacts or approved people instead of having to go find the photo in the camera roll and attach it to a text? I have gone through my photos and tried to attach them through the text app and they are randomly mixed with old and new photos and one time I just gave up trying to find the pic I wanted to send.
Also the Gabb Phone Plus and the Gabb Phone 3 have the ability to change the camera app settings. I could change the quality of the photo and the location it was stored in (which came in handy with the Gabb Phone 3 storage maxed out). But with the Gabb Phone 4 Pro camera app I have no options whatsoever. I can only use two of the 3 cameras (the third macro lens is disabled) and I cannot change the storage location options nor can I change the photo or video quality. Plus I'm not as big on filters as my kids are but they were fun to add to my pics. So my message to the techs at Gabb please add more features to this camera app. Sometimes I feel like I am a Beta Tester on these new apps. It seems like these apps get released before they are fully ready for primetime. A lot of us went through the growing pains of Beta testing Gabb Messenger
(Am I right? :) )
In closing, some of you parents out there may ask : "Why don't you just put on your big boy pants and just go get a regular Verizon phone and stop whining about the Gabb phone limits?"
I came to Gabb for peace of mind, not just for my kids but for myself. With my "regular" phone I would spend countless hours on social media, checking email and doom scrolling the news. With the Gabb phone I am back to my old Verizon feature phone era where I have just enough info on my phone to be useful but not distracting. Now I can be more present with my wife and kids.
Please update the camera app Gabb. you are definitely heading in the right direction with your in-house apps.
