How to transfer files between Gabb Phone 4 and Mac

Hi. I want to transfer files between my Gabb Phone 4 (*not* Pro) and my Mac laptop. I have tried both Android File Transfer and MacDroid, but in both cases the Gabb Phone 4 does not seem to notice that it has been plugged in and never asks me to approve the connection, and so it never mounts as a disk and I can't make any transfer. Is there a protocol for this?

Here are the steps to transfer data from your Gabb Phone 4 to your MacBook:

1. Download Macdroid on your MacBook
2. Plug in the Gabb Phone 4 into the MacBook
3. Make sure File transfer is on on the Gabb Phone 4:
   1. Swipe down from top of screen
   2. Select "charging this device via USB"
   3. Select "Tap for more options"
   4. Select "File Transfer"
4. Open Macdroid on MacBook
5. In Macdroid go to Locations
