the messaging app will open but only for 1 second then close automatically. Cannot send/ receive texts. Calling is fine. What do we do?

- First start out with these two soft resets on your device:
- Open Settings App -> System -> Reset Options ->
Reset Wifi & Bluetooth
- Open Settings App -> System -> Reset Options ->
Reset App Preferences
-> Reset Apps
- Open Settings App -> System -> Reset Options ->
- If you are still experiencing the Messenger app closing after, please complete a factory reset:
- Open Settings App -> System -> Reset options ->
Erase all data
(Factory Reset)
- Open Settings App -> System -> Reset options ->

What do we do to fix this? She has the Gabb4.

I did the factory reset and it’s still closing out , seems to be with the one person that my son has the most text with … but you can’t delete conversation or they can’t talk for 30 days … any other suggestions ?

Thank you for your feedback regarding the issue some customers experienced with Gabb Messenger closing automatically on the Gabb Phone 4. We've released a new version (1.41) of Gabb Messenger, which addresses the app closing unexpectedly on some devices.
To ensure you receive the update, please connect your Gabb Phone 4 to WiFi. The update should be automatically applied within 24 hours. To verify that your device has received the update, follow these steps: tap Settings > About in the Gabb Messenger app. The version number should display as 1.41

I have just activated the new phone 4. Every other app opens just fine but the messenger still just automatically closes. I have checked and it's version 1.41. And I have also tried both soft resets and the factory reset and signed everything back in. It also won't let me activate any other apps on the phone from the website.

I am having the same issue with messenger app opening for 1 second and then closing. Have done all the troubleshooting steps and still won't work. Brand new phone.

- Update apps on Gabb Phone 4:
- Open
Gabb ID
app - Select "
Check for Updates
" - If there are any available updates, they will be listed, follow the prompts to update the apps
- Open
- Check for Software/Firmware Update on Gabb Phone 4:
- Make sure device is charged to at least 50%
- Connect to WiFI
- Open
Settings
- Select
System
- Select
Updates
- Select
Download
- Once the download is complete, you will receive an option to
Install
Your phone will restart during the installation. Do not remove the battery or power off the device during this time. Hope these troubleshooting steps help!
