Free month of service... isn't free?

Dear Gabb,

Like many other Gabb customers this Christmas season, I connected my new Gabb phone to the MyGabb app before the deadline to receive the "free month of service." However, it appears that Gabb is charging taxes anyway despite the cell service itself being free.

Can someone explain why this is? Why advertise a "free month," only to still charge a tax of $9?

    Hi @Gabe1104 and @Sofia1,

Thank you for your posts and for expressing your concern with this situation. We'd love to help clarify your questions.

@Gabe1104, taxes are a fee that we do not have control over changing in a monthly billing invoice. The promotion offered a free month of service which included the monthly service fee that is selected upon your order. We apologize for any trouble this has caused you and hope this helps.

@Sofia1, great question. If you pull up the invoice that is emailed to you and check the date next to the plan, you will see the timeframe for that bill. For example: if you are looking at your bill from 1/4/25 and look under Billing Summary, you will see the plan name along with a date in parentheses (01/01-01/31). If you are seeing a date from before the time your device was activated, our billing department would be more than happy to further investigate this with you.
