Hi - I have allowed my son to download an app that had in app purchases. Do I need to do anything additional to restrics in app purchases, or will I automatically be notified if he tries to make an in app purchase? Thanks!

    Hi @Brandye,

Thank you for this question! Because these apps are 3rd party apps, we do not have the ability to change any settings within the app itself. Meaning we do not have access to restrict in-app purchases or add notifications when a purchase is made. The alert on the apps in the App Store in your MyAccount is placed there to help parents understand that an extra awareness might be necessary.

    Hope this helps!

@Brandye I have found that in-app purchases are entirely blocked. You cannot add debit cards or even Google Play gift cards.

Are we as parents able to make in-app purchases for our children? There are apps that I would like to purchase so they don't have to watch adds. Such as the clever app. It does not have an account login therefore I cannot purchase it on my phone make an account then sign in on her phone. So there is no way to get rid of the adds, or the journal daylight app. Because they are not tied to an account you can just sign in on.

So we are not able to do in-app purchases for our children?
