Hey @khamm0781 ,
Good question. Some of our devices (like the Gabb Phone 3 Pro/4 Pro), use Knox as part of the technology we currently utilize to help keep these phones safe. It allows us to provide a phone that permits parents to control what apps are enabled on the phone while not having to worry about web browsers, social media, or other non-parent-approved apps being on the device.
The Knox browser is locked down and will not allow your daughter to browse in any way. It's on there due to Knox being a security management framework that is built into the devices, but it will not allow her access to the web.
P.S. - if you're curios on how to manage 3rd party apps on the Gabb Phone 4 Pro, make sure you're on an Advanced plan by logging into your account at gabb.com/account on a computer, selecting
Dashboard
, and clickingManage Plan
on the device. From there, you can enable (and disable) apps from your account by clicking on theGabb App Store
. Once enabled by the parent, the child can then download the app from the Play Store app on their device. Please note - 3rd party apps are only available for our Pro model phones on an Advanced plan.
Best,

Upon opening Knox browser or tapping home it says URL is blocked. I don't know how to get to an address bar. Any ideas?

Hello @Ordeogrim,
Great question! Knox Browser is the app that allows our devices the ability to block search engines. If a user taps a link or URL on their Gabb Phone, the internet access will be blocked. The Knox Browser app correctly says that the browser is locked as it falls in line with our purpose of keeping all Gabb users safe by not allowing internet access.
Hope this information helps!

why have the Knox Browser on the Home Screen anyway? What is purpose?

The app must be installed on the phone to properly block internet access and keep the user safe. If you do not wish to have the app on the Home Screen, you can remove it by following these steps:
- Long press on the desired app
- Select Remove
This will not delete the app off the phone. You can find it again when swiping up from the bottom of the screen and swiping through the apps until you find it.
Hope this helps!

Hello @Cara,
Our Gabb Phones do not and will not have access to the internet, social media or apps that can access the internet. Our number one goal is to provide parents and kids with the right tech for their situation. Safety is the number one priority!

I recently got my daughter a Gabb 4 plus, but there are items of buisness that require her to use some URL links that keep getting blocked. How could I unblock these settings?
Thank you, and have an amazing day!

My daughters phone is stuck on this Knox manage login screen. I cannot go to anything else on the phone, even when I shut the phone off and turn back on.
