Android Crashed and everything gone

My daughter's watch crashed today and was stuck in a boot loop with Android recovery. The only thing to do was to remove the device and factory reset. But, her profile is gone too? I cannot find her Gabb ID anywhere in the MyGabb app or the web portal. All of her contacts are gone. There were only a few, so we can re-add most of them, but why would her profile be removed all together? Isn't the profile supposed to be separate from the device so we can just re-attach it? For debugging, the Android error was enablefilecrypto_failed.

And the pets. She is really upset about that. She had spent over 600 coins in that thing and it is all gone. We, as parents, don't event have the ability to add those back. If we could just create a task with say 600 coins, that would fix it, but they are capped at 3. She really doesn't want to do it anymore because she's worried she's going to need to start all over again. You run Android in a closed ecosystem. It really won't be that hard to push to the cloud a save file that can be used as a backup.

Sorry for the rant.

    Hi @HoneyPott,

Thank you for this post to share your experience with the Android Recovery error on your Gabb Watch 3. We apologize for any trouble or frustration this caused you and your family. We would love to help clarify this situation.

When a watch experiences this Android Recovery screen, the most effective troubleshooting steps is to unpair from the Gabb Watch and preform a Factory Reset by following these steps:

    • Hard reset (Factory Reset) on the Gabb Watch 3:
      • On the MyGabb App: Unpair the watch
        • Select the "Devices" tab
        • Select "Profile" on the watch you need to unpair
        • Scroll to the bottom of the profile and select "Remove Device"
        • Select "Remove and Reset"
      • On the Watch: Factory Reset the watch
        • Place the watch on the charger
        • Press the back button (top right button) 10 times fast
        • Select the checkmark on the watch
        • The watch will power off, factory reset, then power back on when it’s finished
        • Pair back to the watch

When following these steps, the device is set back to its factory settings deleting all data from the device. This includes contacts, Gabb Go progress, etc. Ensure you logged back into the Gabb ID during the re-pairing process with the initial Gabb ID username and password. At this time, data from the Gabb Watch 3 is not yet backed up to the Gabb Cloud. We hope to make this an available feature for the Watch in the future to eliminate this concern.

Again, we apologize for any frustration this situation has caused. We can assure you that our developing team is actively working on this error and plan to release a fix in the near future. Thank you for your patience and for being part of our Gabb family.

We've had the Gabb 3 watch for about 2 months and it's the second time we've had this same issue. We did the first factory reset about 1 month in. It's very frustrating because then I have to add FOR THE THIRD TIME all the contacts, set the carefully thought out quiet times, etc.
