Hello all,

We've released an important system update to all Gabb Watch 3/3e devices.

This update includes important battery life enhancements, bug fixes experienced by some users, and performance improvements.

To receive the update automatically, ensure your Watch is connected to Wi-Fi on your home network and connected to a charger at night.

    Since the watch update, the Gabb watch screen has gone black. We have followed all the troubleshooting tips proposed, but the problem is that when we unpaired the watch, the watch screen is still black and we cannot choose the wifi network and therefore we cannot pair the watch. The watch is fully charged and plugged into a charging device when we try to pair. Both devices (iPhone and Gabb watch) are right next to each other. The app is now failing to detect the Gabb watch. Please tell us how to resolve this issue or get a replacement watch.

    We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing this black screen error on your Gabb Watch 3e. In our recent comment on Gabb Watch 3 Black Screen in the forum, we announced a new System Update was released on 10/25 to resolve the black screen error. However, if your device is unpaired from your MyGabb app, it will not be able to receive the update.

    Since your device has been unpaired, you can contact our Customer Support team to see if your device qualifies for a manufacture warranty replacement. Customer Support can be contacted by chat at www.gabb.com, or by phone at 385.235.6646 Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m-6:30 p.m., MT or Saturday from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. MT.

    Is the update still available for download? I've been having problems with Wi-Fi on my daughter's watch. When I finally connected the wifi adapter with my iPhone hotspot it was 11/2/24. It's saying there's no updates to be had and the device was up to date. The system version screen is here:

    If this is not the current version what information should be showing on this screen? And if this isn't how can I be sure that I'm getting the update?

    Hello @themidiman,

    Great question! From your photos, your Gabb Watch has received this update. The best way to ensue your device is on the most recent update is to follow the App and System update you mentioned:

    App Update on the Gabb Watch 3:

    1. Connect Gabb Watch to WiFi by going to the settings app
    2. Open the ID app on the watch
    3. Tap Update App until the screen says "Apps are up to date!" You may need to tap the button multiple times. This may take several minutes to finish.
    4. Turn the watch off by holding down the power button for 4 seconds, select the power off icon on the watch screen, wait 15 seconds, then hold the power button for another 4 seconds to turn the watch back on.

    System Update on the Gabb Watch 3:

    1. Place watch on charger. Watch must be charged to at least 30% before updating
    2. Open the Check for Updates app 
    3. Tap the update button. The watch will automatically restart when the update is done.

    If your Gabb Watch 3 says "Software up to date" you will know it is functioning on the most recent update.

    Thank you @ReaganKowal , I believe this has solved our issue. Would Gabb be willing to start publishing the latest software and app revision #s whenever an update is pushed out?

    well i just got my phone and i cant even pair my watch with my iphone 16, app keeps booting me out of the system everytime i click the "next" button after it paired up

    We're sorry to hear about this experience with pairing your new Gabb Phone! Apologies for any frustrations this has caused you and your family. This will happen when the account holder information isn't fully updated in the MyAccount. Our Customer Support team can update this and preform a sync to your account to resolve this.

    Watch fully charged however only shows 1 bar...will not update, location not working, still able to make calls and text...help please
