is there a way to make the approved contact list apply to text messages only? I want them to be able to make calls on their phone (friends) , but want text messaging restricted to specific people.

    Hi @Slmattb,

Great question! You can create an approved contacts list for them using the Gabb Messenger Parent app. Just make sure your child is signed into a GabbID in their GabbID app, download the Gabb Messenger Parent on your smartphone, login with your Gabb Account username and password. You can choose to manage contacts in the app and build an approved list. The approved contact list applies to both phone calls and texting for customers using a Gabb Phone 3 Pro, Gabb Phone 4, or Gabb Phone 4 Pro. For some of our older models (like the Gabb Phone or Gabb Phone Plus) the approved list only applies to texting. This feature is available for iOS app users and coming soon to Android.

This would be a great feature to add to our Feature Idea page.

If other customers like this idea, they can comment and vote on the post. This helps our team to see what features are most desired by our customers and work to make them a reality. Thank you!

Yes you definitely need to provide the function that parents can approve voice call while disapproving texting. Texting is something we want to prevent our kids from doing until they are significantly older. I bought this phone to allow them to make and receive voice calls, but you appear to be saying that using Gabb phone is an all-or-nothing choice. How soon do you expect this feature will be offered?
