Having this same issue now after having to do a factory reset for other unrelated issues. Following for the solution.

following due to same issue… Just upgraded to Gabb Watch 3 after having an older device for two years and it wiped my contact photo and display name when I activated the new device for my son. Hopefully GABB fixes this quickly. Looks like it's ready been a couple of weeks as a known issue.

This issue is huge because if i cant update my contact info it makes it so i cant call my daughter during set quiet times which literally makes a kid watch pointless. I cant send her to camp or school with the ability to call or text anyone or get on apps. We havent really been able to use this.

Thank you for commenting and following the thread. We wanted to let you know we're still working through making the primary contact on the watch be able to change their display name as it appears on the Watch. We wanted to make sure you know that this isn't forgotten and we're still actively working through it.
Although we don't have a firm release date in the next few days, we appreciate your patience. We understand the need here and are looking to make sure that the display name can reflect "mom", "dad", or whatever you need it to reflect. Thank you.

Summary
As of July 8th, 2024 we've released a new version of the MyGabb app that allows the primary contact to update their
Display Name
andContact Image
. Update your MyGabb app in the App Store or Play Store to receive this update.How to update your Display Name and Contact Image
In the MyGabb app:
- Tap the child's Gabb Watch and open their device profile
- Tap
Manage
under Contacts - Tap your primary contact. Update the Display Name and Contact Image as needed. This will change how your contact is reflected on your child's Gabb Watch.

Hi! Is this still an issue that you're aware of? I'm unable to change or modify my name in my daughters contacts. Also, I'm not seeing a 'primary' contact under either of their profiles. Only 'guardian' (my husband) and 'other contacts'. When I view myself under personal info in the settings on the app, I can only modify my photo, not my name. Please help! :)

Thank you for your comment and question! Sorry to hear you're having some trouble with this feature. To help clarify, the Primary Contact is the contact information of the account holder. Aside from your comment, we have not received any feedback of this error after the update on July 8th. Let's see if troubleshooting can help!
- Update MyGabb App:
- Delete and Re-Install the MyGabb app from the parent phone
- Ensure you log into the MyGabb app with the primary account holder username and password
- Update Software on the Gabb Watch 3:
- Connect Gabb Watch to WiFi by going to the settings app
- Open the
ID
app on the watch - Tap
Update App
until the screen says "Apps are up to date!" You may need to tap the button multiple times. - This may take several minutes to finish.
- Turn the watch off by holding down the power button for 4 seconds, select the power off icon on the watch screen, wait 15 seconds, then hold the power button for another 4 seconds to turn the watch back on.
- Update the Firmware on the Gabb Watch 3:
- Place watch on charger. Watch must be charged to at least 30% before updating
- Open the Check for Updates app
- Tap the
update
button. The watch will automatically restart when the update is done.
- Soft reset to the Gabb Watch 3:
- Hold the power button down for 4 seconds
- Select the power off icon on the watch screen
- Wait 15 seconds
- Hold the power button for another 4 seconds to turn the watch back on
If you do not see a change after following the above troubleshooting steps, the next steps will involve unpairing and pairing back to the Gabb Watch.
- Hard reset (Factory Reset) on the Gabb Watch 3
- On the MyGabb App: Unpair the watch
- Select the "
Devices
" tab - Select "
Profile
" on the watch you need to unpair - Scroll to the bottom of the profile and select "
Remove Device
" - Select "
Remove and Reset
"
- Select the "
- On the Watch: Factory Reset the watch
- Place the watch on the charger
- Press the back button (top right button) 10 times fast
- Select the
checkmark
on the watch - The watch will power off, factory reset, then power back on when it’s finished
- Pair back to the watch
- On the MyGabb App: Unpair the watch
- Account Sync with Customer Support:
