Can I edit the information of the Primary Contact for my child's device?
Just got the Gabb Watch 3 yesterday (yay)! I am listed as the primary contact, but when I try to upload my picture (tried choosing one from the library and taking a new pic) and change my display name to anything (Mom, Mama, Mommy, Ma, even Bruh!) I get an error that says "MyGabb Forbidden". I am using the Gabb app on an iPhone and my software is all updated to the latest versions. Hate that when I call my little guy, my first and last name shows up. 😫 Help!

I'm trying to update my display name to 'mom's but I keep getting an error, that says forbidden... anyone else have this issue, if so how did you fix it?

Sorry to hear about that error when changing your display name! I just checked with our Product team. They're going to be looking into this and get it fixed! We for sure want you to be able to change that display name to whatever you need without getting an error. We'll keep you up to date when a fix is rolled out.
With the contact photo, you can troubleshoot the error by following these steps: Go to the hamburger menu > Settings > Change the profile photo from there.-Reagan

@ReaganKowal There is an error when trying to change just the pic, too. Sounds like you guys might have something broken on the back end. I was hoping to outsmart the system by adding myself as a new contact, but it was too smart and recognized my efforts… Rats! I look forward to the fix!

@cberry88 Excellent work around attempt there! Thanks so much for the post. We're actively working on that error message. We've identified the issue and will work to get it resolved so you can change your display name and contact photo successfully. Like @ReaganKowal mentioned, we'll for sure let you know when a fix is out.

I am experiencing the exact same thing. I was able to add my husband as "Daddy" but I cannot change my name at all. The only way I was able to change the photo was by going to my own profile and changing it there. I still cannot change it to say Mama which is frustrating me but I am glad I got on the computer and found this thread. So its not just me

I am also getting the same forbidden error. I am trying to update my name as “mom” on my son’s watch and also add a profile picture and getting the forbidden message.

@Mon805 and @Hollymom3 y'all are not alone, and Gabb is on it! I look forward to the fix, I just hope it is a quick one. Thankfully they've already found the issue(s) which can be a big part of the battle! Here's to the correction going smoothly 🤞🤞🤞

Hi everyone,
Thanks for commenting. Although we don't have a specific ETA for the fix, we're actively working on it now. We for sure want parents to be able to dictate what their contact name appears as on their child's watch.

Yep! Just received my daughter’s watch and having the same issue! PLEASE fix ASAP!

I added myself as another contact (not guardian) just contact as Mom and my #. The watch only shows me once on her contacts as Mom. It seemed to fix it for now.

Same “forbidden” error for me as well, hopefully this is being prioritized since my daughter definitely doesn’t call me by my government name 😆

I just received my daughter's watch today and I am also having the same issue. I have tried it multiple times, updated the app, and I am still not able to change the display name on my daughter's watch.
Hoping this issue gets resolved soon.
